I haven't updated in a week so I thought it was about time.
Last Wednesday, we were able to go around with the project plan diagrams and mark up all of the issues we found. We also took a lot of pictures. I shared the photos with Dad and we spent awhile on the phone talking over what major issues he saw. Most of the problems are related to large gaps between the screens and posts which will allow in a lot of bugs, the access panel to the water connection being too tight, and shoddy repairs of the holes from the temporary rails.
Thurs and Fri the electricians were out. Looks like they failed their final inspection on Thursday and had to come back Friday to make some changes. After that, they passed.
Fri and Sat, the foreman and his crew were out to hang the door, rehang a light, and some other last minute issues. They also happened to drag a piece of siding back out with them, which the PM had said didn't exist anymore. Now that it does, we'll be even more insistent about those holes being fixed properly from the rails.
Last night, our project manager called to ask what our major issues were so we could schedule the walkthrough. When Mike called him back this morning to confirm the walkthrough appointment, the PM said instead he was sending the foreman back out in the next 48 hours to make some of the repairs we'd spoken about on the phone. THEN we'll do the walkthrough.
In the meantime, the weather has been beautiful so we've started using the porch a bit. We've eaten several meals out there, spent time on our laptops, I read a book, rocked in our chairs... It's going to be so fabulous when it's finished. We just need to iron out these pesky last issues...

Here's Ripley this morning on the webcam we've been using to keep an eye on things. I'm not sure if he sees squirrels, birdies, workers, or those invisible ghosts or whatever it is that fascinates him so much.
